This AHA course is designed for advanced healthcare providers in enhanced cardiac care that need ACLS for the first time.
The length of the course is 11 to 12 hours of classroom training and is taught over (two days).
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
Intended Audience: ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.
There is a mandatory pre-test that needs to be completed before taking this course. The pre-test course can be found at http://elearning.heart.org. Complete the pre-test and bring a print out of your results along with your 2020 ACLS manual to the course with you. AHA recommends purchase of the student handbook.
They can be acquired through AHA at onlineaha.org/AHA, worldpoint.com or aed superstore.
Class starts promptly at the listed start time. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class is scheduled to start, so that you may sign in and the instructor can go over any administrative information that needs to be covered. All students must be in the class by 15 minutes after class start time. Any student who is not in class by then must reschedule their course. No refunds will be issued.
